about Rieker Shoes:

Rieker have been making Antistress shoes for more than 130 years. Heinrich Rieker opened his first factory in 1874. When He he died the factory was left to his three childre; Ernst, Heinrich jnr and Karl. The factory was based in Tuttlingen, near the Black Forest in Germany. The company grew quickly and by 1924 had more than 1000 workers, doubling by 1964. The factory has stayed in the family since then. In 1975 Markus (Rieker) took control and has continued the great success of his forefathers to this day.

Rieker-Antistress is undergoing huge growth throughout the developedworld - it sells its shoes in 62 countries around making it one of the biggest shoe makers in the whole of Europe. Shoes are made in eight different countries by the company's which means a total production of over 50,000 pairs per day, this is incresing to over 60,000! Design and development of the new collections take place at the factory headquarters which are now based in Reiden which is in Switzerland.
