Lelli Kelly School Shoes
About Lelli Kelli School Shoes
Lelli Kelly first introduced their school shoes ranges
in 2010 after the success the previous year with just one party shoe,
the Michelle party shoe. This shoes was made from good quality patent
leather with a leather lining and leather insole. The shoe was on a smallish
heel with a single bar going over the instep like a typical Mary Jane
shoes. The shoe had the logo embroidered on the bar and came with a free
toy in the box.
This original party shoe sold so well that Lelli Kelly made the first
range of heeled boots on the same sole, (see the quilted boots on the
boots page), and the shoe was reintroduced the following back to school
in 2010. Always a party shoe really the company looked to ways of intruding
a range of proper school shoes.
This eventually came about in the summer of 2010 when they launched a
brand new range of 'proper' school shoes but of course designed in their
own way. This meant getting a good fitting medium last, (the shape that
the shoe is made on), and designing some 'sensible' shoes to go on the
top. Core to this range was the first of the School Straps Dolly Shoes
with the interchangeable straps.
School Dolly Straps - with Three sets of straps.
This shoe really became the cornerstone of the school shoes range for
the brand and it became the style that was featured in the TV adverts
that ran from the end of July to the end of August, covering the main
back to school period. Children actually return to school in the middle
of July in Scotland so it was a good time to get the adverts out and in
front of the kids on Nickolodean and The Cartoon Network.
There were a few other shoes in the range such as the broader fitting
version of this one. This was essentially the same shoe but with what
they described as a continental fitting which meant that the shoes had
more depth to them and could accommodate a wider and more chunky foot.
There was also the Leli
Kelly School Shoes Cross Straps Dolly which was a shoe with zig-zag
Velcro straps across the instep - you can see all of these shoes by selecting
them from the tabs above. Each tab comes with a short description of the
shoe and when it was available on Shoes.co.uk.
Each of the designs came in a fully branded box with a small toy which
most season would be a toy mobile phone or similar with children lip gloss
or such like inside. In the case of the changeable strap shoes the box
also contained a small chiffon bag as seen in the picture above which
contained the straps that the girls could swap over the ones on their
shoes with. The straps were held on with Velcro loops on either side of
the shoe.
