Grenson Feather Master Shoes - Buy Online

Grenson have been making shoes in Northampton for over 140 yeras making them one of the oldest manufacturers of welted shoes in the UK.  Grenson make a variety of different shoes from traditional welted shoes to soft 'true' moccasins where the shoes are 180 degree stitched through and slip lasted see the image below on the different types of shoes that Grenson make.

William Green was the founder of the Grenson shoes and he was born in 1835 and moved to Rushden in Northampton at the age of 4. Northampton has been known as the centre of the English shoe industry for over 200 years because of its centraol location and its welath of natral resources needed for the art of shoe making.
William Green learned the shoe making trade when he helped his mother to hand make boots at home until 1860 and after that when he bought his own house in 1866. The Greens Yard factory was opened in 1874 and was amongst the first to adopt the new 'Goodyear' welted method of making shoes.

The Grenson name was a shortening of the name 'Green and Son' and so in 1913 the name became one of the first brands to be registered in the UK.

In the early 50s the Grenson Shoes company quickly adapted to the comparatively new trend of wearing shoes as opposed to boots.

Grenson Feathermaster shoes are built to be hand crafted, light and flexible hence the feather motif in the logo. Shoes.co.uk carries the full range of Grenson shoes available in the UK from the famous Grenson Shoes in stock service and all deliveries are free.
