Well its that time of year once again! it doesn’t seem five minutes since the last snowfalls blew us all away at the end of 2010, and here we are again not one year later with the same bad weather looming on the horizon. Its started up in Cumbria and of course Scotland and I have just heard on the radio, (Radio 2′s Ken Bruce of course, what else would I be listening to at 10.30 when ‘Popmaster’ is on?), that they have closed snake pass and the other one that goes across to Sheffield, the road I can never remember the name of!

Last year will come to be know as the year of the snow boots and Snowjoggers in Shoes.co.uk, those wonderful trainer styles waterproof boot with the padded legs. The designer of the boots Ike, wants to turn his company in to a world leader, selling not only Snowjogger Boots but a much wider variety of branded footwear from his design base in Denmark. This proved rather tricky when he was attempting to sell jelly sandals last year although they were called ‘Rubber Ducks’ they still came under the Snowjogger umbrella! Ike is pushing forward with his expansion plans and is now developing all new Snowjogger Footwear under teh newer Rubber Duck brand. So all of his ranges in future will feature the new logo and the old brand name will be phased out.

This os course has lead to some consternation in fashionista circles ‘They are not real Snowjoggers’ I hear you cry, ‘They are fakes’, ‘I want my money back!’ Well trust me Ladies and Gentlemen, this is all stuff and nonsense! Who am I to deny the man his moment of glory? If he wants to change the name of his company to something far more confusing, (have you tried searching for ‘Rubber Ducks’? guess what comes up? rubber ducks – right!), then that is entirely up to him, but the basic fact is that these boots are the real deal; They are made in the same factories as all of the original and with the same Hydrophobic and presumably ‘Snow-ophobic’ qualities as the originals, just with a new name. The name was actually around last year but far less prominent as retailers still had stocks of the previous year’s boot to sell so the stock was mixed with the new.

Anyway that enough of me garbling on about Old name/New name – I just wanted to make it absolutely clear to the more anal customer that that was the case and to not come on bleating to me about copies etc.!

New Year – New Rubber Duck Collection!

Of course the old favourites are still in the range, the Classic Snowjogger, sorry,Women’s Rubber Duck Boots is still very much to the fore and to be honest when the snow hits the road there is nothing better that the Classic to see you through. Sturdily made from heavy nylon and suede this was the boot that started it all and we still have it in the range in Black and Navy.

Then there is the Sport Wet Look, a favourite now for the past two years and once again a mainstay of he range, like all of the otehr boots it has a waterproof membrane and faux fur lining to keep your tootsies toasty warm and dry even in the harshest of conditions.

Another low boot but with D rings lacing up the front is the new Rubber Duck Trek Jogger, Made from nylon and suede with a waterproof membrane once again to keep your feet warm and dry this boot has a rubebrised foot and stitched padded leg with a faux fur lining. Sportier than the Classic as you would expect, this boot comes in at £89.95.

Classic Faux Nubuck Rubber Duck

This is a new version of the Classic Rubber Duck Boot made from all one material – the upper has a rubberised feel and will keep your feet ultra dry this winter with the waterproof internal membrane seated between the outer material and the inner faux fur lining. The sand coloured material is new for thisyear.
