Amber and Jade Shoes - Larger Sized Shoes - Ladies Large Size Shoes.
Frustrated at the poor selection of larger sized shoes on the market, Catherine Owens, who is a ladies' size 10 decided that she would develop her own range of bigger sizes. Her aim was to develop a brand of shoes that was specifically designed for the bigger foot.
The problem with other brands that are offered in large sizes is that the starting point is always a much smaller last. The last being the basic 'form' or shape of the foot that is used to develop the lines of the shoe from. Amber and Jade shoes are designed from a size 10 so the result is that the shoes are always in propertion and don't look like 'boats' as most other larger sizes that are available in the shops do!
The shoes have little design tweeks that although are not obvious, are very important to the success of the brand and the wearability of the shoes. The heels are not overly dainty, as they have to carry a little more than the average, they also need to stay on the foot and not gape so they have special internal strengthening on the sides or 'quarters'. The shoes also reach slightly higher on the heel so that they grip a little firmer. All of this effort to make the larger shoes look like they have been designed that way!
